Meniscus TLR

Single Meniscus Lens

Most lens units are made up of several glass or plastic elements to help reduce the aberrations inherent in using a single glass lens. On the other hand, if you are looking for distortions it makes some sense to use as simple a glass lens as possible, ideally one that you can focus and still maintain control over the exposure. With a Mamiya TLR I’ve used just the rear elements from a pair of 85/4.5 Agfa Agnar lenses, with satisfying results.
